The material for the ball valve must be hard and durable

Brass ball valves are used in many applications, such as oil and gas processing, water wells, and food and beverage production. This type of valve is easy to work with and has a high corrosion resistance.
There are three main types of ball valves. The most common is the Floating Ball. A floating ball is suspended within the valve body and can move laterally when it is in the closed position. Another is the Cavity-filled Ball Valve. In this type, the ball is sandwiched between two seats on the inlet and discharge side.
Ball valves are typically controlled using pneumatic actuators. Alternatively, they may be manually operated. Electric actuators are also available. They can be used for a variety of purposes, including automatic shut-off.
The material for the ball valve must be hard and durable. The ball should have a low coefficient of friction, enabling it to operate smoothly. Also, the seat on the ball must be able to withstand the working fluid.
Stainless steel is another option for a ball valve, and it retains its strength even at high temperatures. It has some nickel and chromium, as well. However, it is generally not a good choice for systems with salty or corrosive properties.
For systems that require sanitation, consider a product such as PVDF, which is a thermoplastic fluoropolymer. PVDF is a highly purified, non-toxic material that has excellent chemical and biofouling resistance. Besides being UV resistant, it is also resistant to abrasion.
